BIS certification is an accreditation given by the Bureau of Indian Standards in India where the third party assures the quality, reliability and safety of a product. The activities including product certification, formulation of standards, testing, hallmarking and calibration schemes are conducted by the BIS. BIS registration is usually voluntary except when the government of India implements it for 380 products to protect the public welfare.
This certification means that license holders can use the ISI mark to signify quality. For example, BIS Registration is compulsory for smartwatches under IS 13252 (part 1). They also need WPC approvals for their devices before launching in the Indian market to facilitate wireless connectivity. Before they are sold on the market these products go through rigorous safety testing to comply with standards set by IS.

Proof of correspondence office and factory.
The BIS certification is given by the Bureau of Indian Standards for a period of two years. This certification is renewable by manufacturers as long as the products do not change or the prescribed standards are not altered. A renewed BIS certificate is valid for at least one year and not more than five years.
Annual advance minimum marking fee and license fee are needed for renewal. If the renewal application is filed after the certificate has expired then the applicant has to submit a late fee of Rs. 5000. Renewing this certificate will mean continuous compliance and high-quality safety standards maintenance as per BIS certification.
