Getting an ISI mark under IS 2190 includes several steps. Here's how it works:
Send product samples to a BIS-recognised lab. The lab will test it as per IS 2190 requirements.
Submit Form V with BIS and attach all required documents, including the lab test report.
A BIS officer will inspect your facility. They will review your machinery, process controls, and production capacity.
During the visit, BIS may collect random samples from your plant for further testing.
If all conditions are met and results are satisfactory, BIS will issue the ISI Mark Certificate under IS 2190.
Once certified, you must emboss or print the ISI mark on each extinguisher with your unique license number.
This entire process can take 30–60 days, depending on how quickly you complete your testing and documentation.
