This is the order of steps:
Confirm your product category and whether it needs government recommendation.
If it does get the formal recommendation from APEDA or FSSAI first.
Gather all required GACC Registration Documents.
Open a facility account on the GACC Registration Online portal at cifer.singlewindow.cn.
Fill in the application and upload your documents.
Wait for GACC review most standard applications process in about 20 working days.
Collect your 18-digit GACC Certificate number on approval.
Print that number on both inner and outer packaging before your first shipment.
One practical note: GACC advises you to apply directly, not through your Chinese importer or distributor.
GACC Registration in China lasts five years. Start your renewal through the CIFER portal three to six months before expiry. Report any changes to your facility address, ownership, production scope to GACC promptly. Some categories under Decree 280 don't qualify for automatic renewal and need fresh assessment, so check which tier your product falls into.
