An earnest money deposit exemption is the most immediate benefit. Government tenders typically require bidders to deposit an EMD, a sum of money held as security and returned if the bid is unsuccessful. The Government e-Marketplace requires vendors to undergo periodic vendor assessments before transacting. NSIC-registered units are exempt from this process, reducing friction in online government procurement.
The consortium facility allows registered MSEs that individually lack the capacity to fulfill a large order to form a consortium and bid jointly. This opens tender categories that would otherwise be operationally out of reach for smaller units.
