Documents Required for Trade License

• A filled and self-certified Form 353
• Proof of the registered business's address
• Certificate of incorporation for partnership firms or companies
• A self-certified blueprint of the proposed business area's layout
•  No Objection Certificate (NOC) from neighbors or residents, as a consent letter.
• Any additional documents as required by the municipal department as per evolving regulations.
• PAN card of the proprietor for sole proprietorships, or PAN card of the firm or company for other cases.
• Tax receipt from the municipal area where the business is located, if the property is owned by the business owner. For rented property, a rental or lease agreement for the business location.
• Relevant constitutional documents such as a Partnership Deed for partnership firms or a Memorandum of Association (MOA) for companies.
• Valid identification proof of the primary owner or proprietor for sole proprietorships, an authorized partner for partnership firms, and a director for companies.

Registration Process of Trade License

Step 1: Access the Municipal Corporation website: To get login credentials, applicants need to access their respective Municipal Corporation and go to Citizen Service. Fill in basic information such as name, email ID, date of birth, nationality, and phone number to get login credentials.

Step 2: Complete and submit the application: Select the application and complete the form by entering all the necessary information along with the required documents & fees. The successful submission will be acknowledged.

Step 3: Verification of the Application: Urban Local Bodies officials will then verify both the application form and the uploaded documents. Upon successful verification, a distinctive Unique Application Number will be automatically generated for the application. If deemed necessary, the licensing authority may necessitate on-site inspection to ensure compliance with the stipulated conditions.

Step 4: Grant of the Trade License: Once all documentation and online processes are satisfactorily completed, the Trade License number will be issued.

Timeline, Validity & Renewal of Trade License

Once approved and granted, the trade license is typically valid for 1-3 years post which the license shall be required to renew the same. For renewal, the application shall be made at least 30 days before the expiration of the license in the prescribed format between January and March of each year. The renewal application shall be submitted along with the requisite fee along with the following documents:

• Copy of the original trade license expired
• Challans about previous payments
• Comprehensive tax receipts detailing payments made up to the present date
