Introduction to PSARA License

What is PSARA Act?
The Private Security Agencies Regulation Act, or PSARA, is an Indian law that was introduced in 2005 to regulate the operations of private security agencies in India. Documents required for PSARA License in Delhi
Different states may require different documents. The following common documents are needed in order to obtain a PSARA license in Delhi:
The private security agency's logo.
Address proof of the registered office.
PAN card information for the promoters.
A character certificate for each employee.

A copy of every director's income tax return.
Identity documents for the directors and other members.

Process for Grant of PSARA License in Delhi
Step 1: The Controlling Authority may issue a license to the private security company in Form VI upon receipt of a report from the authorized officer about the PSARA application that was submitted in accordance with sub-rule (1) of rule 3.
The Authority must fulfill all requirements and ensure that the applicant is satisfied. Before the license is issued, the operating area must be examined.
Step 2: The Controlling Authority must confirm the instruction and expertise given to private security guards and supervisors of any private security service, either directly or through its officers.
The Authority must also examine whether to renew the licenses of those security firms whose compliance with the requirements for guaranteeing the necessary training may have been lacking.
Step 3: The Controlling Authority can request a no-objection certificate from the relevant police authority after conducting whatever inquiry it deems appropriate. Within sixty days of receiving the application and the necessary funds, the Authority must issue a written order granting or refusing a license.
Step 4: The Controlling Authority must document the reasons why he disagrees with the no-objection certificate that was obtained from the relevant police authority. The Government is then consulted on the topic, and a decision is taken in accordance with their wishes.
Step 5: If a license is awarded by the Controlling Authority, it has to be issued in Form VI. In the event that the Controlling Authority cancels it, the license is valid for a full five years.
Step 6: If an applicant has not been given a fair chance to be heard, the Controlling Authority may not refuse to award the license. The order must specify each and every reason a license might be denied.
Applicable Fee and Validity of PSARA License
The PSARA government fee in Delhi will be as mentioned below:
- Rs. 5,000 for 1 district
- Rs. 10,000 for 5 districts
- Rs. 25,000 for entire city of Delhi
The PSARA License in Delhi is valid for 5 years. After which, the applicant needs to apply for a license renewal.
Penalty for not getting a PSARA License
In accordance with PSARA, anybody found in possession of an invalid license will be imprisoned for one year, subject to a fine of up to Rs 25,000, or both options. Under PSARA 2005, all private security companies must apply for licenses in order to conduct business throughout India. Cancellation or Suspension of PSARA License
Any suspension or cancellation of a PSARA license is contingent upon the fulfillment of the following requirements:
